CV

Laura Estela Huerta was born in Tecate, Baja California Norte, Mexico in 1992. 

“Curiosity and exploration are the cornerstones of every project and idea I undertake. Observing and analyzing people's experiences not only enriches my understanding of the individual but also opens me up to the ideologies and passions of others.The prospect of learning in any and every form truly captivates me. I thrive on the endless possibilities that come from melding different perspectives, backgrounds, and skill sets into something truly transformative”

Materiality plays a central role in her work. Huerta primarily uses terracotta clay sourced from her hometown of Tecate, a material that anchors her practice in memory, geography, and place. Through intuitive processes, abstraction, and physical transformation, her pieces evoke emotional landscapes shaped by movement, contingency, and lived experience.
